IN MEMORY OF MERVYN HENRY FONDLY KNOWN AS MOBSTER

IN MEMORY OF MERVYN HENRY FONDLY KNOWN AS MOBSTER

Mervyn Henry was a long standing member of the National Carnival Bands Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NCBA) and was also on the Board of

Executive from 1998 until the time of his passing.

He proved to be a loyal and devoted servant to the Association, and can be labelled as fanatical, whenever the business and the affairs of the NCBA became subject.

He adopted his own personal style of keeping himself in touch with the “ground”, by engaging in conversation of every issue ,whether controversial or otherwise with both members and non- members of the Association.

He will provoke or humor you with his harassing strategy.

He became an ambassador and was responsible for the interest shown by international groups, which he encouraged to become members of the NCBA.

Mr. Henry was a member of the band known as Showcase, Showcase International and Saphyre. He also had close affiliations with Modernaires and Playboys Steel Orchestras. He was an avid mas player and would have been seen portraying his costume as an individual in Tribal Connection, on Carnival Monday and Tuesday and as a competitor in the Traditional Mas competition in the Authentic Indian category, on the Wednesday night before Carnival.

Mr.Henry has travelled promoting Mas and the NCBA to Luton, Leeds and Nottinghill in the U.K. to name a few.

The President and Executive wish to extend deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Mervyn Henry (Mobster).

He will be sorely missed.

May He Rest In Peace.

The funeral of the late MERVYN HENRY (MOBSTER) TAKES PLACE on Wednesday 22nd February at the St. Theresa’s Church in Woodbrook, thence to the Western Cemetery. A PROCESSION TAKES PLACE FROM COURTS IN ST.JAMES TO THE CEMETERY.
